dB level bar is built from the letter 'n'

TYPE AND DATA
Methods
Brief
I set out to capture time, speed, elevation, and noise as these were the metrics that best described my diverse path, and could change at a moments notice.
Data from my commute was collected daily over a period of two weeks using 3 apps. Excel for data tracking, Speedometer for capturing speed and elevation gain/loss, and NOISH for dB level recording.
I took the average values at each second interval and devised a way to plot my data points.
Explore data and its meaning through the organization of various typographic elements and structures, where application of typographic design principles forms a narrative.
Create a typographic poster that illustrates the path between OCAD U and your place of residence. Explore message, content, hierarchy, sequencing of letters, words, and lines of type to enhance the development of a typographic landscape.
Outcome
The poster is completely built from typographic elements and shows the path traveled from my home to OCAD U with a linear, top-down approach. However, time was the only metric that was truly linear. It was important to illustrate the other metrics in snapshots to best demonstrate rates of change, and change of states.
