70 DAYS OF TYPOGRAPHY

Randomly assigned one letter and given 70 days to iterate 70 forms of that letter. Deadline included developing a printed artifact.

Commitment of showing up daily to a sketchpad for 20-30 minutes per day. I made notes to return to some compositions I thought I should digitize when time allowed. Made the decision to limit exposure to other design work when it was time to iterate. Flow was the key to not becoming stuck after so much exploration.

Methods

A goal I set for myself was to develop as many iterations with analog means of creating. Markers, pens, hole punches, tape, ink, glue, rips, folds, etc… were all tools I deployed. I gravitated towards form manipulation, geometric fundamentals, and abstract exploration.
