Brief
I initially explored names that described iteration, experimentation, and making, eventually focusing on the relationship between "ITER" and "PRAXIS." Iter is Latin for “path” or “journey,” while praxis refers to practice, action, and the application of ideas through doing. After developing the concept, I found that ITER-PRAXIS became cumbersome as a name, so I returned to PRAXIS.
The lab became less about naming a specific methodology and more about creating a space where that methodology could develop naturally.
Develop a logo for a "design process" focused lab that gives me space to investigate design beyond the constraints of conventional client work. I wanted the identity to reflect experimentation, iteration, practice, and an interest in the processes behind design rather than simply its finished outcomes.
Outcome
The current word-mark identity is intentionally simple. PRAXIS represents thinking through doing so I wanted it to come from iteration. I wanted it to be a product of experimentation and have visual presence.
